ZCorum Offering Free Trials of TechVizion at SCTE Expo

ZCorum will be handing out magnifying glasses in their booth at the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo in Atlanta this week, which is quite appropriate considering their TruVizion product and logo. Attached to that promo item will be a card with a username and password that will let someone try out ZCorums mobile app called TechVizion. TruVizion, and its accompanying mobile app TechVizion, are the companys popular diagnostics tools for troubleshooting CMTS and cable modem issues.

We want to make it as easy as possible for those at the show to immediately try out TechVizion, said Rick Yuzzi, Vice President of Marketing for ZCorum. All theyll need to do is go to the iTunes store or Android Market and download the TechVizion app. Well hand them a card with a username and password that will allow them to log in and see the features of the mobile app as it pulls data from an actual cable plant. According to Yuzzi, with TechVizion, a technician with an iPhone, iPad or an Android-based smartphone or tablet can pull up any modem on the plant from any location and view current statistics for that modem. They can see the modems status and RF readings, and even see stats for the upstream channel the modem is connected to, which can help determine if the problem is located in the home or elsewhere. In fact, with one tap, they can plot the modems RF stats for the last 24 hours, and even overlay readings from the five closest modems to look for any common trends or deviations.

While TechVizion is normally used in conjunction with TruVizion, last week ZCorum also announced that it would work with MSOs to make TechVizion available to providers that have already made significant investments in their own Operational Support Systems (OSS), but who would also like a mobile solution for cable modem diagnostics. ZCorum will be demonstrating both TruVizion and TechVizion in Booth # 1801 at the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 11 starting tomorrow in Atlanta.
